In-house.
Almost everything which is developed at AEL is developed in-house. The company designs itself. And it produces with an extraordinary vertical integration. The company carries out all stages of production which are significantly influencing the product quality. This particularly applies to the field of welding engineering.
In-house: The design
Products by AEL are procedurally and statistically calculated and designed in-house. The engineers of AEL are familiar with the common tools of process design – and with design programmes, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, CADISON, HTRI, PROBAD and PV Elite. Processing the results and compiling them in a technical documentation which is appropriate for the respective application – this may also be expected from AEL by each customer.
In-house: The purchasing competence
With respect to the peripheral components of the system technology, for example valve, pump, measurement and control technology, AEL relies on the products from renowned suppliers – with proven compatibility to the own products. The customer of course has a say in the selection of these components.
In-house: The mechanical processing
The decisive steps of the mechanical processing of components are executed by the company itself. For this purpose, a whole CNC machinery is available. AEL has a special vertical boring and turning mill for the high-precision production of big rings and circular blanks, for example. Surface finishing and painting are also performed in-house.
In-house: The welding technology
The products from AEL are welded manually, semi-automatically or automatically, depending on the requirements. Processes of high-performance arc welding such as MIG, MAG and submerged arc welding, are used. The orbital welding process from Polysoude is particularly used for welding the tubes into the tube sheets of heat exchanger.
In-house: The quality inspection
AEL has all the possibilities to verify the compliance with the required mechanical-technological parameters for its products, for example:
- High-precision dimension measurement
- Hardness measurement
- Roughness depth measurement
- Layer thickness measurement
- Endoscopy.
The weld inspection occupies an especially important place among the component inspections. The entire range of non-destructive testing methods is used for this purpose, depending on the order specification:
- Dye penetration inspection
- Magnetic particle testing
- Ultrasonic testing
- X-ray testing.
The following is performed for the examination of the proper functioning of shell and tube heat exchanger and oil supply systems:
- Pressure testing (own test stands)
- Functional trial run (oil supply systems).
